Birth mom ghosted me after 2 years of letters

I've been sending letters and photos to my son's adoptive family for about 2 years now through the agency. Last month I got a letter back saying they want to close the open adoption completely. No warning, no phone call first. I spent the whole weekend crying on my couch in Portland and honestly don't know what to do next. Has anyone else had the adoptive parents just cut off contact like that?

Nah, I actually get it from their side. Sometimes vague layoffs are about restructuring whole departments, not personal performance. We don't know the full story, and companies keep those details close for legal reasons.
