Adoption paperwork took me 14 months longer than they said it would
When I first started the process to find my birth mother back in 2021, the agency told me it would take about 6 months tops to get non-identifying information. Fast forward 14 months and I was still waiting with no updates. Has anyone else had this kind of delay with sealed records?

Nah, quiet waits are pretty normal for government stuff like this.

14 months past the deadline with zero updates? That's ridiculous. Did they ever give you any kind of reason for the hold up, like a backlog or just straight up ghosting you? I'd be blowing up their phone and email every week if I were you. What's their excuse for not even giving you a status report after all that time?
