Vent: I just wasted a whole weekend on a show that went nowhere
I saw a trailer for 'The Echo Protocol' and it looked like a cool spy thriller, so I binged all eight episodes over two days. The plot just got more confusing and the last episode ended on a cliffhanger that felt like a total cop-out. What's a show you started that actually paid off by the finale?

Wait, you didn't like the ending of The Echo Protocol? I was actually into the whole mystery box thing. @samf95, I get why you bounced off it though. For a show that really stuck the landing, have you tried Dark? It's confusing but actually wraps up.

Honestly, what shows have you liked before? Because I tried 'The Echo Protocol' too and dropped it after like three episodes. The payoff for me was 'The Last Resort', that miniseries about the submarine crew. It tied up every single mystery by the end in a way that made sense.

Used to think Dark was just pretentious nonsense the first time I tried it. But I gave it another shot after hearing people like @the_brooke talk about how it all comes together, and they were right. By the end every weird detail from season one pays off, it is not just random confusion for the sake of it. The Last Resort sounds good though, I will have to check that one out.
