Watched 'The Wire' right after 'Ozark' and it's not even close
I finally got around to 'The Wire' last month, after finishing 'Ozark' in a week. The difference is huge. 'Ozark' feels like a fast, slick machine, but 'The Wire' is a living city. The characters in 'Ozark' make wild choices to keep the plot moving, while in 'The Wire', the plot moves because of who the people are and the jobs they have. I remember a scene where a cop just sits in his car for a full minute, watching kids play, and it told me more than any shootout. 'Ozark' is a fun ride, but 'The Wire' makes you think about the whole system. After five seasons, I felt like I lived in Baltimore. Has anyone else had a show ruin other ones for them like that?
