Unpopular opinion: skip the intro music on streaming shows

I was laid up on my couch in Phoenix last Tuesday with a pulled back muscle, finally starting season 3 of The Expanse. Every episode has that 90 second intro that plays automatically, and by episode 4 I was already reaching for my phone to skip it. After 12 episodes in one sitting, I swear I must have spent nearly 20 minutes just waiting through the same song. Does anyone else fast forward every single time or am I just impatient?

That intro is one of the best parts of The Expanse. The music, the visuals, the way it builds tension for what's coming. You're missing out on a key part of the show by skipping it every time. That 20 minutes you "saved" could have been spent getting properly hyped up for the episode. If you're in that much of a rush, maybe streaming shows aren't for you.

A buddy of mine used to skip the intro EVERY time on his first watch. He said the same thing, he was "saving time". Then one day his wife accidentally let it play. He texted me later that night, all excited describing the bass line and the shot of the Rocinante. Now he calls it the "Space Mood Setter" and gets mad if anyone tries to skip it.
