That one friend who finally watched Breaking Bad after years of me begging

My buddy Mark from work texted me last month saying he finally started Breaking Bad. He finished the whole series in 11 days and called me at 2am after the Ozymandias episode just saying "dude..." over and over. It was funny seeing him go through all the phases I went through back in 2017. Has anyone else had that experience where you almost wish you could watch a show for the first time again?

That exact thing happened with my sister and The Wire. I must have told her for five years straight to watch it. Finally she binged it last winter and texted me after every episode with these long reactions. I ended up rewatching my favorite scenes with her on the phone just listening to her lose her mind over Omar and Stringer Bell. It was almost better than watching it myself the first time because I got to see it through her eyes.

Honestly I used to think recommending shows was kinda pointless. Like just let people find stuff on their own. But @the_barbara hearing you describe watching your sister react to The Wire makes me rethink that. I pushed my brother into watching Justified for years and when he finally texted me after the first season finale I realized I was missing out on that shared experience. It's like getting to relive the best parts without even rewatching.
