My wife and I solved our 'what to watch' fights with a simple jar system

We each wrote 10 shows we wanted to see on slips of paper and put them in a jar. When it's time to pick, we draw one and that's the next binge, no arguments. We're three shows deep now and just started 'The Americans' from her list. Anyone else have a good method to avoid the endless scrolling debate?

Oh man, that jar idea is genius. It reminds me of how my buddy and I used to pick pizza toppings back in college. We'd write down wild combos, like pineapple and anchovies, and the loser had to eat a slice. We ate some truly terrible pizza. Your system sounds way more peaceful.

My cousin in Chicago told me about a similar jar system for picking weekend chores. It actually worked for a few months before they just started ordering pizza instead. Your story about the wild combos, @reed.ray, is making me hungry even though some of those sound rough. There's something about a bad pizza that becomes a good memory later. A peaceful system is nice, but those messy stories are what you really remember.
