My cousin told me to skip the book and watch the show, they were right

My cousin Liam kept nagging me for like a year to watch The Expanse and said reading the first book first would ruin the pacing. I finally caved on a rainy Sunday and binged all 6 seasons in about 3 weeks. The show explains the solar system politics way better than the book's opening chapters, which I tried after season 1 and got bored. If anyone else is stuck on whether to read or watch first, go with the show, then read the books for the extra lore. Has anyone else found a book adaptation that honestly works better in screen form?
