My buddy swore marathoning all 7 seasons of The West Wing in 10 days would be amazing, but I burned out by season 4 and barely remember anything that happened after episode 60.

He told me it was the only way to truly appreciate the writing but I just ended up hating the show by the end, has anyone else ruined a series by cramming it too fast?

Actually gotta disagree a bit here. That pace is brutal, no question. But the writing on West Wing really does hold up if you give each episode room to breathe. Binging that fast turns it into background noise instead of a show you actually watch. Something about the rapid fire dialogue and the walk and talk style needs your full attention. If you're just trying to get through it, all those clever moments just blur together. I spaced mine out over like 3 months and loved every season. Maybe try watching one episode a night instead. Let yourself sit with the arguments and the characters for a bit. That slower pace made the big emotional beats hit way harder for me. Your friend meant well but 7 seasons in 10 days is like eating a 5 course meal in 5 minutes. You taste nothing and feel sick after.

Yeah I used to think cramming was fine but you totally changed my mind on that.
