My brother kept telling me to stick with 'The Bear' past the first episode
I watched the first episode a few months back and turned it off halfway. The yelling and chaos in that kitchen stressed me out. My brother, who works in a restaurant in Chicago, said I had it all wrong. He told me, 'You have to get past the pilot. It's not about the stress, it's about the people under it.' I gave it another shot last weekend and binged the whole first season in two days. He was right. Once you get to know Carmy and the crew, the show becomes this deep story about family and trying to be good at something. The stress is still there, but you see why it matters. Has anyone else had a show they almost quit on that turned out amazing?

I read an interview where the creator said the chaos is meant to make you feel like you just started a new job.
