Hot take: I gave 'The Bear' another shot after quitting halfway through the first episode.
My friend in Chicago insisted I watch past the initial stress, so I pushed to episode 3. The 'Forks' episode completely flipped my view on the whole show. Anyone else have a show that won them over after a rough start?

Push through the first season of "Parks and Rec". The first season is a rough copy of "The Office" and almost everyone is unlikeable. It finds its heart in season two when the characters soften up. By season three it's one of the best comfort shows ever made. That shift from mean-spirited to genuinely kind is what did it for me. What was the specific moment in "Forks" that changed your mind on the show?

That "shift from mean-spirited to genuinely kind" you mentioned, @david_adams, is exactly it. I had a show do that for me with "The Bear." I was stressed just watching it until that "Forks" episode. The specific moment was Richie quietly setting the table perfectly at the end. No big speech, just him finally getting it and taking pride in the small thing. The whole vibe of the show changed for me right then, from chaos to care. It went from a hard watch to something special.
