Dark was so hyped I figured it was overrated, but damn was I wrong
I kept seeing people rave about Dark on Netflix and thought no way a German time travel show is that good, but I finally caved after 3 friends begged me. Three episodes in and I was completely hooked, now I'm rewatching season 1 to catch all the clues I missed. Anyone else find a show you dismissed that turned out to be incredible?

Whoa wait... you made it through the whole first season and still felt that way? I mean I get the pacing complaint, the show definitely takes its time, but man the way that final episode tied everything together had my jaw on the floor. The whole thing about the cave tunnels and the different years overlapping blew my mind, felt like I needed a spreadsheet just to keep up but in a good way.

You said "three episodes in and I was completely hooked" but that's kind of my whole problem with it. I stuck it out for the entire first season because everyone swore it got better and I just kept waiting for the payoff. The pacing is so slow and deliberately confusing that it felt like work, not entertainment. Every character talks in vague riddles and the whole "everything is connected" thing got old fast for me. I honestly don't get the hype, it's just a moody soap opera with fog machines and a sad piano soundtrack. Maybe I'm missing something but I thought it was a chore to get through.
