Binged The Leftovers right after Station Eleven and it's not even close

Station Eleven had me feeling things The Leftovers never did, I think because the characters actually felt like real people instead of just being miserable for three seasons. Has anyone else hit that wall where a critically acclaimed show just leaves you cold compared to something more grounded?
