Wheel truing stand hack I picked up at a shop in Portland

Was helping a buddy at his shop in Portland last month and watched him true a wheel using a zip tie on the fork instead of a proper stand. Saved me from buying a $200 stand, works just as good for quick fixes. Anyone else got cheap shop tricks like this for field repairs?

Zip ties fixing bikes, next thing you know we will be rebuilding car engines with duct tape and a prayer. The real hack is convincing yourself that wobble was always there and you just never noticed it before. That saved me way more than $200, probably around the cost of my pride. For real though, if it works it works, just dont tell the shop guys you learned it from a zip tie or they might charge you extra for the lesson.
