Used to mock folks who clean their chains after every ride. Not anymore.
Saw a before-and-after on a guy's drivetrain who does a wipedown after each ride. 400 miles in, his cassette still looked new while mine was already wearing. Now I keep a rag by the workstand and hit it for 30 seconds after every ride.

Oh yeah I was totally that person too, thought chain cleaning was overkill until I tried it myself. Now I give mine a quick wipe after every ride and my groupset is still going strong at double the mileage my old one would have started showing wear. It's honestly wild how much difference those 30 seconds make when you stay on top of it.
