Tried heat shrinking my own battery wrap. Caught the pack on fire.

Was rebuilding a dead e-bike battery for a customer. 36v 10ah pack. Used a cheap hair dryer instead of a heat gun. Too close, too hot. Melted through the wrap and shorted two cells. Spark show in my garage. Lesson learned: spend the $25 on a proper heat gun. Has anyone else botched a battery rebuild this bad?

Holy crap you melted through the wrap with a hair dryer? That takes some serious focus on one spot.

Man that sucks. Really feel for you, I've done similar stuff before and it's frustrating when you're just trying to get the job done. Hope it wasn't too expensive of a wrap.
