Torque wrench calibration drift caught after 200+ carbon builds

I was doing a routine check on my beam torque wrench last month before a big carbon frame job and decided to test it against a friend's digital unit. Turns out it was reading about 6 Nm low at the 12 Nm mark, which is scary for seatpost and stem work. Found out the spring inside had fatigued after roughly 240 uses over three seasons of shop work. I never would have caught it without that side by side test. Anyone else check their wrenches on a schedule, or is it just a when it feels wrong kind of thing?

Man, that's a solid catch! I test mine every spring now, cheap insurance for carbon frames.
