Swapped my old brake pads for ceramic ones after a wet descent in Asheville almost ended badly

When my front brake started singing like a dying cat halfway down a 4-mile grade last Tuesday, I finally gave in and tried those $25 ceramic pads the shop kept pushing, and now I actually stop in the rain instead of just praying. Anyone else have a part they swore was snake oil until it saved your bacon?

And honestly I swore by metallic pads for years until I borrowed a buddy's bike with ceramics and panic stopped in the rain right before a deer jumped out. Now I'm the guy telling everyone to switch even though I still feel weird spending twenty five bucks on brake pads that look like chalk. Tbh if someone told me a year ago I'd be this excited about stopping power I'd have laughed in their face.

Hell yeah, ceramic pads are legit. Swapped mine after a sketchy gravel descent and it felt like night and day.
