Swapped my heat gun for a cheap hair dryer on tricky decal removal
I had a old frame with clear coat over the decals and no way to get them off without wrecking the paint. My crew heat gun kept scorching the finish at the edges, so I tried my wife's $20 hair dryer on the lowest setting instead. Took about twice as long, maybe 15 minutes per tube, but it softened the adhesive evenly without any burn marks. Ended up using the hair dryer for all my resto work now, even the stubborn 90s MTB stickers. Anyone else found a household tool that beats the shop version for a specific job?
