Spent 3 hours hunting a creak on my shop bike, turned out to be the saddle rails
Last Tuesday at the shop in Cleveland, I had this clicking noise that only happened when I stood up to pedal. I replaced the bottom bracket, greased the pedals, even swapped the rear hub... nope. Turns out the Brooks saddle rails were dry where they meet the clamp, took about 90 seconds with some Tri-Flow once I finally thought to look there. Has anyone else chased a sound that turned out to be something totally dumb like seatpost paste or a rack bolt?
