My shop's torque wrench calibration was off by a huge margin
Found out last month when a carbon seatpost clamp sheared at only 4 Nm. We sent our tools out and the main click wrench was reading 2 Nm under across the whole range. Has anyone else had a calibration service mess up that badly?

Makes my old "calibrated by feel" method seem almost professional.

Yikes... that's scary. Makes me wonder if they even tested it or just slapped a sticker on it. I'd be checking the calibration cert for the actual test points and technician's signature.
