Cut a spoke too short on a wheel build and had to order a single replacement for $8
Was building a wheel for a customer's vintage touring bike in my shop last Thursday when I snipped a DT Swiss spoke 3mm too short and the $8 part turned into a 6 day wait for shipping, anyone else hate when one small mistake kills your whole workflow?

Used to think keeping a few spare spokes handy was a waste of money, but after doing this exact same thing last month I completely changed my mind.
