Customer swore a backwards front wheel improved aerodynamics.
Spent ages explaining why that's not how it works. Still cracks me up.

What gets me is how they never just go "huh, guess I was wrong". They always jump to some even weirder idea to explain why you're the one missing something. Like that guy who insisted his bike tires needed 200 psi because "more air means more speed". When they burst, he said the problem was the tire brand, not his crazy math.

Yeah the "still cracks me up" part gets me. Some folks latch onto an idea so hard that physics itself couldn't change their mind. It's that mix of funny and frustrating.

Honestly that "physics itself couldn't change their mind" line is kind of harsh. Sometimes people just trust their own experience over a textbook. If a guy pumps his tires to 200 psi and it feels faster until they pop, maybe he learned something a chart couldn't teach him. Tbh always jumping to call ideas weird just shuts down learning. The real problem is when nobody listens, so folks dig in harder. It's not always about being stubborn, sometimes it's about not feeling heard.
