Big box shop tune-ups are ruining entry level riders, I said it
Last month a kid brought in a bike from one of those chain stores near Portland and the rear derailleur was so bent it looked like a pretzel, they told him it just needed a cable pull and charged him $60, so when I fixed the hanger in 5 minutes he asked why anyone ever goes there, has anyone else seen this pattern where cheap labor creates more repairs than it solves?
