Appreciation post: A kid at the co-op showed me something about chain cleaning
I was helping out at the community bike co-op in Denver last Saturday and this 14 year old kept wiping his chain with a rag soaked in simple green instead of spraying it on. He said spraying just pushes grease into the cassette and you never get it all out. I had been doing it the other way for 15 years and now I'm wondering if I've been making more work for myself the whole time. Anyone else ever get schooled by a younger mechanic on basic stuff?
