Warning: a judge at the county fair told me my brisket was 'polite' and I still think about it

I was standing behind the table at the Polk County fair back in August when he said it, and it took me a minute to figure out he meant it had no bark and no bite. Two years of cooking at 225 with a water pan and I never once thought about what my rub was actually doing. Has anybody else gotten a comment from a judge that stung more than a low score did?
