Saw a guy in Lockhart using a hair dryer on his brisket

I was down at Smitty's Market last Saturday and this pitmaster pulled out a cheap hair dryer to blow ash off his coals before adding fresh wood. Never seen that trick before, but it worked way cleaner than a bellows or a towel. Has anyone else tried this or is this guy just a madman?

Nah that's just a leaf blower for cleaning ash, not a hair dryer.

Wait, isn't that basically the same thing though? Lol I swear every household tool ends up being used for something completely different than what it was made for. Reminds me of how I use my kitchen scissors for opening packages more than actual cooking.

Man I feel that... people always give me a hard time about using tools wrong but honestly if it works it works. I've definitely used a leaf blower for way stranger stuff than just blowing leaves around. Sometimes you just gotta get creative with what you have.
