Bought a $300 pellet smoker on clearance, learned why it was on clearance

I saw a big-box store clearancing out a pellet smoker for $300, down from $800. Seemed like a steal. Hooked it up, ran the startup cycle, and the hopper feeder jammed on the third cook. Called customer support and they said the part is discontinued. So now I have a $300 smoker that works as a very expensive charcoal grill if I baby it. Anyone else get burned by a clearance smoker that should've stayed in the dumpster?

Clearance deals are always a gamble but sometimes you just get lucky with a hidden gem.

Hidden gem" until the hopper gives up on life. At least you got a good story out of it.
