The neighbor who watered my tomatoes with soda water for 2 weeks

I came back from vacation and found my balcony tomato plants covered in sticky brown spots, and my neighbor shrugged and said she thought the extra fizz and sugar would give them a boost, so has anyone else dealt with someone's 'helpful' balcony watering that did way more harm than good?
