The neighbor two floors down in Dayton showed me her trick with a milk jug and I have not bought a seedling tray since
I ran into her by the mailboxes in our building back in April, and she mentioned she cuts the bottoms off gallon jugs, pokes a few holes, and starts her lettuce and spinach right in them on the balcony rail. I tried it with 4 jugs this spring and every single seed came up, plus the plastic has held up fine through all the rain we got in May. Does anyone else have a cheap container setup like that, or am I the only one late to this?
