That time my balcony turned into a jungle for 3 days straight

Last May, I went out of town for a long weekend and asked my neighbor to water my cherry tomatoes. Came back to find she’d been SO generous with the hose that my plants looked like they’d been in a hurricane. The soil was basically mud soup and two of my basil pots had tipped over completely. I spent the whole Sunday afternoon re-potting everything and praying the roots didn’t rot. Has anyone else had a watering mishap turn their balcony into a swamp?

And she TURNED the hose on full blast and just left it there? That's wild. I'd be furious digging all that slop out of pots.

Man, that's brutal! I had a roommate leave a garden hose running in a raised bed once and it turned the whole thing into basically soup... took me three days of scooping mud out to salvage anything. Some people just don't think about the mess they're leaving behind for you to deal with.
