Spotted a tiny vertical garden on a fire escape in Brooklyn
I was visiting a friend in Brooklyn last week and saw their neighbor set up a whole veggie garden on a fire escape. They had 3 tiers of strawberry pots and a couple of those hanging gutter planters. How do they keep it from getting too heavy or damaging the fire escape? Has anyone else tried a setup like that on a rented balcony?

Just hope the landlord doesn't notice. That's an insurance nightmare waiting to happen.

Right? One little leak and you're basically asking for your deposit to disappear into thin air.
