My dad used to play heavy metal to his houseplants. Called it heavy mulch. Weird guy but his ferns were absolutely massive. People get real creative with plant care once they retire. Might have to try the talking thing myself, minus the screaming guitars.

That's honestly one of the best plant stories I've heard in a while. Heavy mulch is a solid pun too, your dad sounds like a good dude. I think there's something to that whole thing about plants responding to vibration and sound, even if it sounds silly. My grandma used to sing old folk songs to her roses and they were the biggest ones on the block. Never underestimate what a little attention and weird hobby does for greenery.
