My neighbor laughed at my balcony tomatoes until July hit
So this guy in the unit above me, Gary, saw me setting up my balcony garden in April and goes "good luck getting anything to grow up here, the wind will kill em." Real smug about it. I just shrugged and kept going. By late July my cherry tomatoes were popping off and I left a basket of extras on his doorstep. He hasn't said a word about my peppers or cucumbers since. Anyone else have a neighbor who doubted your little setup and had to eat their words?

Actually, @rivera.keith, isn't Gary kinda right though? Balcony gardens ALWAYS get wrecked by wind and birds, your tomatoes just got lucky with that warm spell.
