Hot take: I swore by big pots for tomatoes until last Tuesday.
I had a single cherry tomato plant in a 5 gallon bucket that got knocked over in a storm, so I stuck it in a leftover 2 gallon fabric pot as a quick fix. That plant is now covered in more green fruit than any of my others... the roots seem to love the air pruning. I'm rethinking my whole setup for next year. Has anyone else had a plant do way better in a smaller home?

Wait, you're telling me a 2 gallon pot is outproducing everything else you've got? That's wild, I would have bet money on the bigger container every time.

Right?! My peppers did the same thing!

But what if the problem isn't the peppers? @bettym89, maybe we're all doing something wrong with the soil or the watering schedule. Could be we're giving them too much attention and not letting them just grow. Sometimes plants just have a bad year, right? It might not be a sign of anything bigger.
