Heard my neighbor say she only waters her tomatoes in the morning
I was taking out my recycling yesterday and my neighbor two floors up was talking to the building super. She said she waters her cherry tomatoes before 8 AM every single day, even if the soil looks damp. I always watered mine in the evening after work. I tried her way this week and the leaves look way less droopy by noon. I guess the water has time to soak in before the sun gets hot. Do you all stick to a strict watering time?
Yeah, morning watering is a game changer. Lets the roots get a drink before the sun bakes everything dry. My plants threw a fit when I used to do evenings too.
Actually read something about this in a gardening blog. It said morning watering lets the plants drink up before the heat hits, which makes sense for why yours look better. Maybe it's just me but sticking to a schedule seems to help a lot.
