Can we talk about my cilantro dying in 3 days on a 4th floor balcony in Phoenix
Ngl I was pretty proud of my little setup, 6 pots of herbs and two cherry tomato plants going since March. Then we hit 111 degrees for three days straight and my cilantro went from green to looking like crispy seaweed by Thursday morning. I moved everything to the shaded corner and started watering at 6am instead of noon, which I should have been doing from the start honestly. The tomatoes pulled through fine but the cilantro and my basil are just done, no saving them. Now I'm out $14 in seeds and starts and thinking about giving up on herbs till October. Has anyone in a hot city figured out a way to keep cilantro alive past June or should I just grow it inside?
