Wrote off torque seal for 8 years, then a loose cannon plug in Tulsa made me eat it
I always figured torque seal was just something inspectors liked to see, so I skipped it on most line jobs unless the manual screamed at me. Then last month a 737 came in with an intermittent heading flag and it traced back to a cannon plug I had terminated 6 months earlier that backed off about a quarter turn. Now I dab it on everything, so what's your cutoff for when it's worth the extra 30 seconds?
