Overheard a lineman say he never checks pin torque on LRUs
He said he just cranks them down by feel, but after finding three loose pins on a nav box last week that caused intermittent failures, has anyone else seen this shortcut cause real problems?

That "by feel" approach is exactly how those three loose pins happen.

Honestly, @lilyfisher, that's a solid point. How do you personally tell the difference between a pin that's just seated a little tight versus one that's actually about to cause problems down the line? Ngl, I always second-guess myself on that, especially when it's a new batch of wire.
