Lost my ADS-B feed on a Gulfstream in Tulsa because of one loose pin
Last Tuesday I was in Tulsa doing a ramp check on a G550 and the ADS-B target dropped off the scope right after engine start. I pulled the transponder tray and found the coax pin sitting about a millimeter back in the connector, so the vibration from the start sequence was enough to break contact. I re-terminated the pin with my DMC crimper, pushed it home until I felt the click, and ran a continuity check before we buttoned it up. The crew got out on time and the target held all the way to cruise. Has anyone else seen these pins walk back after a few hundred cycles, or is this a one-off?
