Why does nobody talk about how loud a cold air intake really is?

I slapped a K&N kit on my 2015 Civic last weekend thinking it'd give me a sporty sound, but now every time I hit 3000 RPM I can't hear my own radio. Is there a way to tone this down without pulling the whole thing off?

I saw a video where a guy put a resonated tube on his intake to kill the noise, like a little silencer piece that fits between the filter and the pipe. Might be worth looking into if you want to keep the cold air flow but stop it from drowning out your tunes.
