Turbo lag tune was snake oil until I hit 90 in 4th gear

I ran a cheap ECU flash from a local guy in Phoenix and thought it was all marketing fluff for the first 200 miles. Then I got on I-10 and the boost curve filled in around 3,800 RPM instead of 4,600, and my 0-60 dropped from 6.8 to 6.1 seconds. Anyone else have a mod they wrote off that turned out to actually do something specific, or am I just getting lucky with the dyno numbers?

Dyno numbers and butt dynos lie all the time. Cooler air on I-10 versus whatever backroad you were testing on before could explain the whole thing, and a flash that needs 200 miles to "learn" is just the ECU pulling timing back until it stops knocking. One run on one road is not proof of anything.

1
