Tried self-leveling intercooler brackets, got a vibration at 80 mph on I-35

My 2004 WRX started shaking like crazy after I installed cheap poly mounts last month, so I swapped in solid aluminum ones in a Taco Bell parking lot and now the hum is gone, but has anyone else had radio static after grounding straps touch the frame?

That grounding strap thing is real though. If it's touching the frame at a point where there's any paint or rust, it can create a tiny voltage difference that messes with your antenna signal. Try moving the strap to a bare metal spot with a proper ring terminal and see if the static clears up. Also check if your radio harness ground is still good, since the cheap mounts might have shifted something when the vibration was at its worst.

That's a solid theory, but my truck's grounding strap is currently held on with a rusty hose clamp and pure hope, so I'm pretty sure the static is just my radio's way of begging for mercy.
