Took me 2 hours to decide between a cold air intake and a short ram intake for my Civic

I picked the cold air because of a YouTube video from a guy in Texas, but then my buddy pointed out it sits too low and could suck up water from puddles, so now I'm swapping it out this weekend for the short ram anyone else dealt with that fear of hydro locking?

Hydrolock risk is real. Short ram is safer for daily driving.

Yeah I've seen that same Texas guy's video actually, he makes a good argument for cold air intakes but I also read somewhere that the whole hydrolock thing is kinda overblown unless you're driving through like actual flood water. Still, it's not worth the risk on a daily driver where you might hit a random deep puddle after a storm. A short ram is just way less stressful even if you lose a few horsepower. I'd rather have peace of mind than worry every time it rains.
