That exhaust manifold crack in Austin taught me a hard lesson about heat wraps
I was driving through Austin last month when my truck started ticking louder than a drum solo. Pulled into a buddy's garage and we found a hairline crack on the number 3 runner. He said I caused it by wrapping the headers too tight for a show look. The heat couldn't escape and it cooked the metal over about 400 miles of highway. We spent 6 hours welding it back up and I swapped to ceramic coating instead. Has anyone else had heat wrap trap moisture or heat on their daily driver?
