Swapped out my cold air intake for a short ram last weekend

I always thought cold air was the way to go, but after 3 years of hydro-lock paranoia in the PNW rain, I finally tried a short ram... The throttle response feels snappier around town and it's way simpler to clean the filter. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed a difference in daily driving?

Totally with you and @david_adams on this - sometimes the simple fix beats the "perfect" setup in real life. It reminds me of how we overthink upgrades across the board, chasing specs instead of what actually works day to day. Peace of mind and easier maintenance usually win out in the long run.

Did you read that test from EngineLabs a few months back? They dyno'd both setups back to back on a stockish motor. Short ram actually made more torque down low where you drive every day. The cold air only pulled ahead way up top near redline. For normal street driving most of us never see that. Your filter stays dry too. No more worrying about puddles. That alone makes it worth it.

Swapped mine a couple years back and honestly my engine bay looks less like a science experiment now. The peace of mind alone is worth the 3 hp I probably gave up.
