Swapped my cold air intake for a short ram on my Mazda 3 and the difference was night and day

Ran a K&N cold air intake for 2 years in Houston and kept getting heat soak during summer traffic. Threw on a short ram intake last month for $120 and the throttle response feels way snappier now. I know people say cold air is better on paper but in real stop and go driving I think the short ram wins hands down. Anyone else ditch their cold air for something simpler?

lunah86 you might be onto something but I think the bigger factor people miss is the overall density of the air. Thicker humid air actually changes how the intake resonance waves travel. Most guys focus on temperature and forget moisture affects sound waves too. A short ram in muggy conditions might get a different pressure wave pattern compared to dry air, messing with the whole intake tuning.
