Saw a 4 foot tall spoiler on a stock Civic at a Cars and Coffee in Omaha and I still can't stop thinking about it
So I rolled up to a cars and coffee in Omaha last Saturday morning mostly to grab free donuts and look at some clean builds. About 20 minutes in, this early 2000s Civic sedan pulls in with a wing so tall it was basically eye level with me. The thing was bolted straight through the trunk lid with what looked like drywall screws, and the end plates had stickers stacked on stickers. I watched the owner park, get out, and proudly wipe the wing down with a beach towel he kept in the back seat. Nobody said a word to him, which somehow made it funnier. The wild part is he had a decent coilover setup and real wheels, so the money clearly went somewhere. I'm not knocking the guy for building what he likes, it just made me wonder how he drives it without the wing scraping every parking garage ramp in town. Did the previous owner do that, or did he bolt it on himself? I need to know the story.
Drywall screws through the trunk lid is wild but honestly that civic sounds like it was built with real love, coilovers and wheels first and the wing last. Half the fun of cars and coffee is the stuff that makes you scratch your head, not just the clean builds. Dude wiping it down with a beach towel tells me he knows exactly what he bolted on there.
