My buddy swore by eBay exhaust resonators, he was dead wrong

Last summer I grabbed a $45 resonator from some eBay seller because my buddy claimed they were identical to name brands. Three weeks in, the welds split right where it bolts to the midpipe, sounded like a lawnmower with a hole in it. Took me 6 hours on a Saturday to swap it out with a proper piece from a local shop. I get trying to budget a build, but have any of you actually gotten a cheap part to hold up longer than a month?
