Lowered my daily on Eibach springs or spent $1100 on coilovers, picked wrong
Last month I had to decide between a $280 set of lowering springs or saving up for coilovers on my 2016 GTI. I went with the springs because I wanted to keep some ride comfort and I thought coilovers were overkill for a car I drive to work every day. Big mistake. Two weeks in, my front struts started leaking and the shop in Sacramento quoted me $640 just to swap them out. Turns out the stock shocks can't handle the extra drop, and now I've basically paid for both setups with nothing to show for it. Should've just waited and done coilovers the first time like my buddy told me. Anyone else learn this the hard way, or did your stock struts survive longer than mine?
